Expert advice and support

By providing expert advice and supported implementation, YESS helps landowners create and extend wildlife habitats (eg woodlands, hedgerows, wildflower meadows and ponds); to protect and improve watercourses and water quality (eg trees and hedgerows/fencing and trees helping to shade rivers and keep livestock out of waterways) and implement nature based solutions to flood management (eg stream re-alignment, leaky dams and flood plain areas).

Working with partners

Advice and implementation are provided by our partnership with ParkLife SW, Devon Wildlife Trust and local volunteers. The programme was initiated with funding from the Environment Agency and has continued to grow with support from Parish, District and County Councils, plus contributions from landowners, Plymouth and South Devon Community Forest and the Woodland Trust.
